With non-essential stores closed, now is perhaps not the best time to start your next home renovation. But spending most or all of our waking hours at home certainly puts that space that we’re not very happy with. At the very least, we can dream about the internal repairs that we would do. At best, we can plan our next renovation. How about we do that now?
In every interior project, you must first do thorough research.
Contrary to what many people think, a creative and tasteful look is no longer exclusive to wealthy families – interior design is increasingly becoming accessible for different rents.

We have gathered valuable tips to let you know how to plan your home decor in times of isolation.

First of all, it is essential to remember that designing or renovating a place is not just putting the aesthetics of the environment into play – it is essential to consider the room’s functionality when designing a project. This factor can guarantee that the lives of the residents become more practical.

  1. Get inspired

Reference is one of the essential points to prepare the decoration of a room in your home. Look for the decorating styles that suit you best and understand precisely what you want and what you don’t want to decorate the room.

Regardless of hiring a professional to decorate your space, being aware of the interior design trends that most make your type and the colors you intend to use is fundamental so that, mainly, the place does not look visually confusing and, for your house, has its face.

2. Reuse

Before you go looking for prices and the decorative objects you intend to insert at home, check the rubbish room or rooms that are hardly used.

Evaluate what you can enjoy in another environment and what you can’t. If your idea is to make your home look great without weighing your pocket, this is a fundamental tip to ensure savings in your project. Be creative and start reorganizing your home decor with your own objects before you go shopping or budgeting.

An interesting option to consider is also the thrift store – especially those who appreciate the vintage style and do not want to spend a lot on collector’s items – as they offer a lot of charm for a very reasonable price.

3. Draw

An outline of how you want the result of your project to be is very important. If you choose to decorate your environment yourself, endeavor to scribble your ideas on paper, even if the illustration is not the greatest of your skills.

If you have mastered modeling software, SketchUp is a good option for creating the floor plan you want to decorate – the program still allows you to get a perspective in 3 dimensions.

4. And last but not least, definition of the budget

After evaluating all the possibilities of saving on objects, stroll through many stores specializing in interiors and decoration. Researching market prices is the best way to maintain the principle of economy when it comes to budgeting your project. In the times we are living in, saving and using creativity is essential for anyone who is dreaming or planning a renovation in their home.

When to use Feng Shui in your room according to an expert

We find out exactly what colors and what layout you need to use to get the most out of it.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese concept about the flow of positive energy, known as qi, and how it relates to objects in space. According to your principles, how you organize the decor in your home affairs, and it can affect your sense of humor. Naturally, then, when reviewing your belongings, it makes sense to start with your room – the place where you go for restful, restful sleep. The good news: it is easy to make some changes to feng shui.

We turn to modern feng shui master and designer Dana Claudat for tips on how feng shui works in a room and, in doing so, create a powerful sanctuary in your home. “While fun and practical,” she says, this strategy “works like magic.”

First, let’s start with why you should have feng shui in your room.

“The main reason for feng shui in a room is restorative and deep sleep,” says Claudat. “Even when your customers register enough hours of sleep, the improvement in their quality of sleep is usually tremendous after making changes to feng shui.”

Making changes to feng shui in a room can also improve your relationships. “In terms of feng shui, your room is always about love. Many clients have found ideal relationships, improved their relationships, or ended toxic relationships in which they felt trapped after applying feng shui with a clear intention to bring more love into their lives. “

Here are some tips to help feng shui in your room:

Put your bed away from the door.

Ideally, your bed will be at a comfortable distance from the door, facing it to some extent, but not beside it, with a clear view of whoever enters the room. It must be lifted off the floor, allowing energy to circulate freely underneath. And it should be supported with a well-made headboard that looks solid and supportive while you sleep. Claudat says that good feng shui can be achieved, even if some of these rules are folded based on your own space and preferences – but remember these two important tips: “The only rules I don’t like to break are to share one wall of a bed with a bathroom and sleep directly under beams.”

Make sure you are working with the right colors.

Selecting attractive and calming colors is a key piece of the feng shui puzzle. “When you add colors to a room, you can choose colors that bring the type of energy that matches your intentions in life,” says Claudat. “It’s easier to start with neutrals in a room – or less saturated colors – and add richer colors as it suits your intentions.”

If you have trouble sleeping or have a fast-paced life, Claudat suggests choosing neutral or lighter shades that are more calming. But if you’re looking for another spark in a relationship or a more vibrant life – and you already sleep, OK – you can choose to explore more vibrant colors.

“Colors like red or other deep, saturated and fiery colors, bring a lot of energy to space,” she says. “You don’t need many of these fire colors to have a big effect.”

Clear clutter in your room

It is known that clutter anywhere in the house can cause stress, so it is essential to clean it up in your room. “Disorder blocks the flow of positive energy and all the bright vitality and great feelings that go with it,” says Claudat. “Furthermore, when people store unwanted things under the bed like papers, it can be like ‘sleeping with problems, which is not very restful.”

Even outside the practice and belief in feng shui, clearing the clutter can have a “positive impact on everyday quality,” says Claudat. “Cleaning up the clutter in a room – including the closets – has a profound positive impact on the quality of your sleep as well as your mentality and mood.”

You may need to get rid of some books.

In accordance with feng shui principles, work-related books and materials should be kept out of the room; this choice will allow you to shut down your mind more effectively when it comes to rest.

“I like to minimize and organize books instead of eliminating the 100%,” says Claudat. “If you pay attention to the messages and themes in your books and ask yourself, ‘Is this book I would like to dream about?’ before you bring him into the room, you should be fine.”

Take note of symmetry.

To make room for good feng shui, pay attention to your sense of symmetry. “Balance is something you can feel, and this balanced feeling is calming and grounding,” says Claudat.

“Not all rooms have space for bedside tables. But, if you have room for nightstands, it’s great to have two – especially as an adult in a relationship or wanting to have a relationship – so that both partners have their own space next to the bed. Bedside tables do not need to match by themselves, but when they harmonize and look great together, regardless of whether they are identical or not, it brings a sense of balance to a room. “

Remember, it’s okay to break the rules.

When you commit to adjusting your room for feng shui – especially if the practice is new to you – it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the rules, but try not to be overwhelmed by them.

“Each house is different, each room is different and each person is different; therefore, trying to strictly apply all the ‘rules’ of feng shui can lead people to confusing paths that are not fantastic,” says Claudat.

She notes that she has seen customers put their beds in awkward or panicked positions because two nightstands cannot fit into space entirely unnecessary. “This fear and dogma need never be involved in the feng shui process,” she says. “If you have made feng shui changes that seem bad to you, change them back if you can, or trust your instincts to adjust things in your room. “
