To plan environments
The interior designer has an impeccable taste for furniture and decoration and the knowledge necessary to create beautiful, functional environments that fit your budget.
In addition to the aesthetic issue, he thinks about how furniture, lamps, equipment, sockets, among other items, will be placed in the environment, always in an intelligent way, and for better use of space. After all, the environment’s functionality depends a lot on the layout of all the items that compose it.
Therefore, in addition to a pleasant and beautiful environment, the interior designer creates a functional and practical space, which fulfills its function with style and according to the resident’s wishes.

To optimize space
First, an environment planned and designed by a professional has better use of space.
Since the interior designer can point out practical solutions for every detail of your property, such as the sectorization of spaces, elimination of elements that hinder circulation, relocation of certain objects, among others.
This means that with the design of an interior designer, you gain environments that are much more aesthetically attractive and more pleasant to live in, in addition to the ease of having a functional and practical space.

To save time and money.
Even though hiring an interior designer is expensive, the great truth is that this professional helps to save money and work time.
And how does he do it? The interior designer knows how to select quality products at a good price to last a long time in your home. That way, you save on the purchase of items and keep them for a long time.

The professional can also bring you samples of paints, coatings, and many ideas for the project, saving you the trouble of visiting several stores. He can also appoint reliable contractors, electricians, and plumbers with guaranteed and quality work.
All this is always thinking within the stipulated budget. Therefore, you will have no surprises with the progress of the work.

To have a professional opinion.
In addition to yours, a second opinion never hurts, especially if it comes from someone with a specifica study and knowledge in the field.
Simultaneously, the interior designer offers a professional assessment of what you plan for your home. Your goal is to create an action plan so that the project is practical and efficient.
In this way, it is possible to stipulate what can be used or what should change, keeping in mind how it will affect the budget and the work time.

In addition, a professional also knows how to point out exactly what is wrong in an environment, facilitating their decision when making changes and making spending more efficient.

Finally, now that you know several benefits, how about rolling up your sleeves and, with the help of a professional, transforming your space?
What are the challenges for decorating small environments?
The demand for properties located in privileged neighborhoods in large cities has raised prices. This is the launch of increasingly smaller apartments, with spaces between 30 and 60 square meters. So one of the big challenges nowadays is decorating small environments.
Thus, it is necessary to be able to insert several functionalities in a small space. Dining and TV rooms become aggregated; it is also common for the kitchen to be combined with the living room’s service area. There is no room to hide the mess!
Want to understand what are the biggest challenges of decorating small environments and how to deal with them? Follow the post we prepared for you:

Find the right colors.
Light colors increase the feeling of space in small environments. You can use a website like Design Seeds to find creative palettes, realizing that some bright tones help emphasize the most discreet power.
In addition to the traditional white, you can use gray, cream, and pastel colors. If you paint one of the walls in a stronger color, the environment gains more depth, which is positive!
Mirrors are one of the simplest tricks to decorate small rooms and make them bigger and lighter. Combine them with special lighting.

Use doors and windows intelligently.
A large door or window facilitates air circulation, brightens the room, and increases the feeling of spaciousness. Therefore, do not cover with heavy fabrics.
To protect animals and children, use protective screens that prevent accidents, but do not interfere with light and air entry.

Dealing with the organization
One of the best ways to tame the clutter in small environments, especially apartments, is to use containers to organize your items more conveniently.
Furniture such as sofas, beds, and armchairs already offer secret compartments for those who live in small places. It’s just not worth abusing them or filling your house with boxes to the point of losing your items!
Avoid using large furniture, such as tall bookcases, in small rooms. Give preference to lower and thin pieces, which leave a clear space along the right foot and avoid the feeling of mess.
The same care must be taken with appliances and kitchen utensils. Thinner TVs, stove, cooktop, and closing table help free up space and make the environment more versatile.

Getting the most out of a smart decor
Plants bring life to any property. In small places, they can be hung from the ceiling with decorative cachets or walls.
To simulate divisions in adjoining spaces, you can change the floor or the wall color. A line of tablets or a wall complemented by the glass also marks the separation between environments in a creative way.

Find the right items to decorate
The tips above seem relatively simple, but finding the right items for your space and style is not one of the easiest tasks. Therefore, having a decorator’s service can help create a cozy space that has its face!
This professional is trained to indicate how the renovation should be carried out, where to buy products with a good cost-benefit ratio, and what combines with your home’s daily life.
Home Staging Contest: Empty Buildings Category with Scenographic Furniture
Anyone who has seen the latest blog posts here knows that I promoted a very special activity to help spread even more about home staging and the work that my students have been developing.
This is how the 1st Home Staging Contest in Brazil emerged, with a great desire to make a difference and take the opportunity to bring something new and useful to people.
The contest had three categories:
1st Category: Home Staging With Resident
2nd Category: Home Staging In Empty Properties With Scenic Furniture
3rd Category: Home Staging In Empty Properties With Real Furniture
This online home staging contest exceeded all expectations. Professionals from all over Brazil registered more than 30 works, and we had 3,913 unique visitors. Each visitor could vote for one of the three categories mentioned above and for more than one job.
In today’s post, I will talk about The Empty Real Estate Category With Scenographic Furniture.
Well, folks, if home staging is still not so well known in Brazil, imagine staging with scenographic furniture? But it is important to say that this work format can become a great ally when preparing a property that is empty for a quick sale.
With this technique, it is possible to furnish and decorate an empty property more practically and economically.
In such cases, it is essential to have:
- Creativity
- Develop your arsenal
- Focus on the potential of the property
- Understand customer needs
- Study the target audience
The step by step for scenographic home staging is:
– Diagnosis of the property and indication of minor repairs, if necessary
– Greater focus on layout, selection of furniture and decorative pieces
– Application of Home Staging and Professional Photos
CONTEST WINNER
Category: Empty Buildings With Scenographic Furniture
I was super happy because we had seven entries registered in this category, which is so peculiar, and we added a total of 7,304 votes. And the winners with 3,005 votes were Alicia Souza and Shirley Reis, who are interior designers and stagers. Check out the video below with the work the girls sent to the contest.
Although the two have accumulated their own experiences over the years, both arrived at Home Staging through a course I taught in Belo Horizonte. From there, they understood the relevance of the technique and decided to invest in the concept to leverage their careers further.
The property they entered in the contest was already announced for sale two years ago precisely because it has many properties available for purchase with similar characteristics in the area.
So, the girls went on a mission to make the place different, special. They did a thorough cleaning and entered with the scenographic furniture, focusing on a young, modern, and cozy decor.
